Choosing the best ceramic foam filter plate is an important task, and the size of the filter plate depends on the flow rate and total amount of the filtered metal. Semi-continuous casting mainly considers the flow of metal, while continuous casting mainly considers the total amount of metal.
The size of the ceramic foam filter plate is selected as follows: in the effective filter area, the metal flow rate per square centimeter and minute should be 70~210g. When the filtered metal flow exceeds this range, the filtering efficiency and the ability to capture impurities are drastically reduced. As the pore size of the filter plate is reduced, the size of the trapped debris is also reduced, and the efficiency of filtering and removing impurities is increased.
Cutting-edge products, such as canning materials, printing plates, ultra-thin foils, computer disks, and non-shell plates, all require the use of fine-pored filter plates. If the melt is clean, the fine-pore filter plate can be used directly; if the melt is dirty, a coarse-pore filter plate can be added in front of the fine-pore filter plate for two-stage filtration. This two-stage ceramic foam filter filtering effect is better.
The ceramic foam filter plate is placed in the CFF filter box, the base of the filter box is square, the size is suitable for the filter plate, and it is inclined to the outlet direction to prevent air from gathering under the filter plate. Both sides of the filter plate should be immersed in molten aluminum, otherwise, it is easy to produce and bring in additional oxides. Before the filter box is used, the refractory lining should be baked to above 650℃ to remove all moisture and crystal water. The bottom surface of the filter box should have a certain slope, so as to dry the metal and easy to clean. Keeping the filter basin clean is very important to obtain efficient filtration.
The ceramic foam filter plate sealing lining is one of the most important conditions for effective filtration. It has two functions: the sealing lining fills the gap between the filter plate and the filter box, and prevents metal from flowing through the gap. Fix the filter plate in the filter box to prevent the filter plate from floating during the filtering process. We provide sealing lining materials including Expanded Cotton Edge, Fiber Cotton Edge, and Fiber Paper Edge.
