In order to further determine the refining efficiency of the granular refining flux, the same aluminum melting furnace was selected, and 6063 aluminum alloy melt was prepared with electrolytic aluminum liquid and cast into cast rods. The first furnace 6063 aluminum alloy melt is spray refining with granular refining agent, and the second furnace 6063 aluminum alloy melt is spray refining with traditional powder mixed refining agent, and then the 6063 aluminum alloy cast rods produced are compared and analyzed.
The comparative test process of the two charges is as follows:
1) Pour pure electrolytic aluminum liquid into the aluminum smelting furnace, and prepare the alloy melt according to the Mg and Si content requirements of 6063 aluminum alloy. The initial refining temperature is 740℃. Among them, the first heat uses a granular refining agent plus N2 for spray refining; the second heat uses a traditional powder mixed refining agent plus N2 for spray refining.
2) The electric powder spraying refining tank with quantitative feeding is used to spray the refining agent to the aluminum alloy melt, and the two furnace materials are divided into two refining agents for refining, each time adding half of the total refining dose, and each refining time is 15 min.
In the test, six aspects including the amount of fumes from the melt during the refining process, the color of aluminum slag ash, the temperature change of the aluminum melt before and after refining, the change of alkali metal content before and after refining, the effect of impurity removal, and the aluminum burning loss, etc. The refining effect is compared and analyzed.
The amount of smoke and scum produced during refining The first furnace aluminum alloy melt was refined with a granular refining agent, and no obvious smoke was found from the beginning of the refining to the end of the refining and the slagging process. During the refining process, it does not glow or burn, and the scum just removed is dark red, and gray-black after cooling, indicating that the aluminum alloy melt is less oxidized and burned.
The second furnace aluminum alloy melt is refined with a traditional powder mixed refining agent. On the one hand, a large amount of smoke and dust is always generated during the refining, slagging and slag cooling process; on the other hand, due to the high temperature, the aluminum melt undergoes violent oxidation reaction and emits dazzling White light, and the aluminum slag after cooling is off-white, indicating that the aluminum melt has suffered severe oxidation and burning during the refining process.
The refining efficiency of granular refining flux in removing alkali metals such as Na, Li and Ca is very significant, while the effect of traditional powder mixed refining agent in removing alkali metals is not obvious. The slag removal effect of the granular refining flux is better than that of the traditional refining agent, and the cleanliness of the aluminum alloy products produced is higher.
